Welcome to the new Dublin Model Racing website. This site is operated by the
Dublin Model Car Club (D.M.C.C.)and the Irish Model Racing Car Club
(I.M.R.C.C.)

The clubs were originally founded in the 1980's to cater for the new sport of Radio Controlled (RC) Car Racing that had emerged from the USA on the back of new technologies at the time. The primary class raced then and up to the present is 1/10th scale electric offroad. Naturally, the sport and clubs have expanded and evolved to cater for new class trends over the years such as On-road touring cars, but racers always return to 1/10th offroad as it offers tremendous spectical and value for money. The "plug'n'play" aspect of the electric buggies also has drivers who have raced Nitro powered cars for years conververting to the popular electric class. This transition is more understandable considering that the electric cars are no longer limited by battery life and power - areas where modern technology have had the greatest effects on the sport.

RC Car Racing in Ireland is experiencing a spurge in growth at the moment - partly due to the "hassle-free" nature of the equipment, and the fact that the cost of getting started has been reduced to about the same as a computer games console - making it very affordable.

The DMCC and IMRCC are affiliated to the Radio Controlled Car Association of Ireland (RCCAOI) whom determine who will represent Ireland in the European and World Championships. The clubs are proud to say that they have had club members qualify for the two highly prestigious events every occasion since 1989.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED
FOR SALE

Getting started:-
It doesn't matter whether you have never used an RC Car before or have been racing for years; the best way to get involved is to get down to the track on a race day. (See CALENDAR page). If you have a car already, bring it along - it doesn't matter whether its a racing buggy or not, you'll still get a chance to "Run-what-you-brung" on our purpose built track.

Where to buy cars:-
Generally all the equipment and spares that you will ever need, at the best prices, are available track-side from the vendors within the club. There are also specialist suppliers in the UK and in the USA, however most brands are unsupported here - so if you break something, you're stuck! However the leading competitive brands are all supported by the track-side vendors and are definitely the best equipment for the job at hand.

Joining the club:-
Why not come and try us out a few times before you join? Should you enjoy the racing experience there is a membership form to download above. Racing is held during the outdoor season in Griffen Valley, Lucan, Co. Dublin and at various venues during the winter then the weather is not so hospitable.
